Lesson: Mark 5:33 (Ages 9-11)
📖 Mark 5:33 – Ages 9-11
Explanation
In Mark 5:33, we learn about a woman who had been sick for many years. She had tried everything to get better, but nothing worked. Then, she heard about Jesus, who could heal people with His power.
When the woman finally met Jesus, she was filled with both fear and hope. She was scared and amazed by His greatness. She knew that Jesus was special, and she believed He could make her well again.
So, with a heart full of faith, the woman approached Jesus. She fell down before Him, showing respect and humility. She shared her whole story with Him, telling Him about her struggles and her hope for healing.
This verse teaches us that we can come to Jesus with our fears, our worries, and our needs. Just like the woman, we can trust Him to listen to us, care for us, and help us. Jesus loves us so much that He wants to hear from us and help us in times of trouble.
Imagine Jesus as a loving friend who is always there to listen to you, hold your hand, and make things better when you feel scared or sick. Just like the woman in the Bible, we can trust in Jesus and share our hearts with Him, knowing that He is always ready to heal us with His love and grace.
Kid's Story
Once upon a time, there was a little squirrel named Lily who felt very scared and alone. She had made a mistake and was too afraid to tell her friends about it. Lily carried this heavy secret around, feeling more and more worried each day.
One sunny morning, Lily met a wise old owl in the forest. The owl listened carefully to Lily's story and then said, "Sometimes, telling the truth can be scary, but it's important to share our feelings and mistakes with others." Lily felt a flutter of courage in her heart.
Just like the woman in the Bible, Lily decided to be brave. She gathered her friends, shared her mistake, and asked for forgiveness. To her surprise, her friends hugged her and forgave her, showing her that honesty and courage were always the best choices. Lily learned that sharing the truth can bring peace and happiness to our hearts, just like the woman who told Jesus the whole truth.

Life Application
This Bible verse teaches us about being honest and brave. Just like the woman in the verse, children can learn to be honest with God, themselves, and others. They can speak up about their feelings, fears, and struggles, just like the woman did when she told Jesus the whole truth. Encourage children to trust in God, share their feelings with trusted adults, and be honest in their actions and words. Being honest and brave in this way can help children build stronger relationships with God and others, and grow in their faith and character.
Craft or Activity
To help children understand and remember the message of Mark 5:33, you can have them create a "Truth Box." Provide small boxes or containers and various craft supplies like markers, stickers, and paint. Encourage the children to decorate their boxes creatively. Inside the box, they can write or draw things that represent their own truths or important things they want to share with Jesus. This hands-on activity can help them reflect on the importance of honesty and sharing their hearts with Jesus, just like the woman in the Bible verse did.

And told Him all she needed to show.
