Lesson: Galatians 3:16 (Ages 6-8)
📖 Galatians 3:16 – Ages 6-8
Explanation
In this Bible verse, God is talking about a very special promise He made to Abraham, who was a friend of God a long, long time ago. God promised Abraham that one of his family members, a very special person, would come to help all people. But here's the cool part: God didn't mean many family members; He meant one very, very special family member who is Jesus Christ.
Imagine it like this: Let's say you have a big, yummy chocolate chip cookie. God promised Abraham that the best, most delicious part of that cookie would be for everyone, but only one person gets to have it. That one person is Jesus! He is the super special part that God promised to send to help us and be our friend forever.
So, just like how a cookie has many chocolate chips but only one best one, God's promise to Abraham was about one very amazing person who would bring lots of love, kindness, and joy to the world. And that person is Jesus Christ, who loves us all very much!
Kid's Story
Once upon a time, there was a little squirrel named Sammy who loved to collect acorns in the forest. One day, Sammy found a special acorn that sparkled in the sunlight. Curious, he asked Wise Owl about the acorn's magic.
Wise Owl explained that just like the promise God made to Abraham was meant for his one special descendant, Jesus, the shining acorn was special because it came from a tree planted by a wise old squirrel long ago.
Sammy realized that just as the promise was meant for Jesus alone, the special acorn was meant for him to plant a tree that would bring joy to many in the forest. From that day on, Sammy learned that special things are meant for special purposes, just like God's promise to Abraham and Jesus.

Craft or Activity
Let's create a family tree craft to help understand Galatians 3:16! Start by drawing a tree trunk and branches on a large piece of paper. Then, have the child write "Abraham" at the top of the trunk. Next, draw a line extending from Abraham and write "Jesus" at the end of the line. Explain that just like a family tree shows how people are related, this tree shows the special promise God made to Abraham and how it was fulfilled in Jesus. You can also add small leaves with promises from the Bible on them to represent how God keeps His promises. This hands-on activity will help them visualize and remember the message of Galatians 3:16 in a fun way!
Memory Verse or Rhyme
Abraham heard God's promise so true,
It was for Christ, the chosen one, too!
Not to many, but to one so fair,
Jesus Christ, our Savior, is the heir!
