Lesson: Acts 25:20 (Ages 3-5)
📖 Acts 25:20 – Ages 3-5
Explanation
In this Bible verse, a leader named Festus was unsure about how to handle a tricky situation. He didn't know what to do, so he decided to ask for help. He wanted to find the best way to figure things out.
Just like Festus, when we face something confusing or difficult, it's okay to ask for help from someone wise or go to a special place where we can find answers.
It's important to remember that we can always turn to God when we're unsure or need guidance. He will show us the right path, just like Festus sought help to make the right decision.
Kid's Story
Once upon a time, a curious squirrel named Sammy found some acorns missing from his tree. He searched high and low but couldn't find them. Sammy saw his friend, the wise old owl, and asked for help.
The owl listened carefully to Sammy's problem. He thought hard but couldn't solve the mystery. So, the owl suggested they take the case to the wise old turtle in the neighboring forest.
The turtle, being wise and fair, proposed they go to the squirrel council in the nearby oak tree. There, all the animals listened to Sammy's case and decided to hold a trial in the squirrel council. It turned out that Sammy's mischievous little brother had taken the acorns for a secret stash!
Just like in the Bible verse, sometimes when we don't know what to do, it's okay to ask for help from others who are wise and fair.
Prayer Prompt
Dear God, thank you for always helping us when we don't know what to do. Just like in Acts 25:20 when the leader didn't know what to do, he asked for help. Help us to remember to ask for your guidance when we are unsure. Amen.

Life Application
This Bible verse teaches us about seeking help and guidance when we are unsure about something. Children aged 3-5 can apply this message by asking for help from a parent, teacher, or another trusted adult when they don't know what to do or if they have a problem they can't solve on their own. It's important for children to know that it's okay to ask for help and guidance when they need it, just like the person in the Bible verse asked for help to figure out what to do next.
Craft or Activity
One fun activity to help children understand and remember the message of Acts 25:20 is to create a mini courtroom scene. You can use simple materials like cardboard, markers, popsicle sticks, and small figurines or paper cutouts to act out the scene where Paul is being tried in Jerusalem. Encourage the children to take turns playing the roles of Paul, the judge, and other characters involved in the trial. As they act out the scene, you can explain in simple terms how Paul sought justice and fairness by appealing to be tried in Jerusalem. This hands-on activity can help children engage with the story and remember the message of seeking truth and justice in difficult situations.
Memory Verse or Rhyme
Let's sing a song to help us understand Acts 25:20,
When in doubt, Paul asked for help aplenty.
He didn't know what to do, so he sought a solution new,
He asked to go to Jerusalem, where things could be reviewed.
So when you're stuck and don't know what to do,
Remember to seek help, just like Paul too!
Ask for guidance and things will be clear,
God is always with you, have no fear!
Songs or Videos
A great Christian song for kids that relates to the message of Acts 25:20 is "Trust in the Lord" by Seeds Family Worship. This song encourages kids to trust in the Lord even when we are unsure or confused about what to do. Another song that conveys a similar message is "God's Not Dead" by Newsboys, which reminds children that God is always with us and in control, even in difficult situations. Both of these songs can help reinforce the importance of seeking God's wisdom and guidance in all circumstances.
