Lesson: Luke 5:18 (Ages 9-11)

📖 Luke 5:18 – Ages 9-11

Explanation

In Luke 5:18, some kind friends brought a man who couldn't walk to Jesus. The man was paralyzed, which means he couldn't move his body like other people could. His friends loved him so much that they carried him on a special mat to see Jesus because they believed Jesus could help him.

Imagine if you had a friend who was sick and couldn't play with you outside. You might feel sad for them and want to help them feel better, right? That's how these friends felt about the paralyzed man.

When they got to the place where Jesus was, it was very crowded. But instead of giving up, the friends found a way to bring the paralyzed man close to Jesus. They even went up to the roof, made a hole, and lowered the man down on his mat right in front of Jesus!

This story teaches us about friendship, faith, and how Jesus cares for everyone, especially those who need help. Just like the paralyzed man's friends, we should also show love and kindness to those who are struggling. And when we have faith in Jesus, amazing things can happen.

So, remember, be a good friend, have faith in Jesus, and always be ready to help others in need, just like the friends who brought the paralyzed man to Jesus.

Kid's Story

Once upon a time, in a small village, there was a brave little squirrel named Sammy. Sammy loved to climb trees and explore the forest with his friends. One day, Sammy noticed a bird with a broken wing struggling to fly. Determined to help, Sammy called his friends for assistance.

Together, they built a tiny stretcher out of leaves and twigs, carefully placed the injured bird on it, and carried it to a kind owl in the forest known for helping injured animals. The owl gently healed the bird's wing, and soon the bird was able to fly again.

Through helping the injured bird, Sammy and his friends learned the important lesson of compassion and teamwork, just like the men who carried the paralyzed man to Jesus in the Bible story. They discovered that by working together and showing kindness, they could make a big difference in someone's life.
