Lesson: 1 Corinthians 3:17 (Ages 3-5)
📖 1 Corinthians 3:17 – Ages 3-5
Explanation
God's temple is a special place where He lives, and He says that we are like His temple. This means that He is with us and loves us very much. Just like how we take care of a house, God wants us to take care of our bodies and be kind to ourselves and others. When we hurt ourselves or others, it makes God sad because He loves us so much. So, it's important to be loving and kind, just like God, so we can keep our temples happy and holy.
Kid's Story
Once upon a time, there was a little squirrel named Sammy who loved to play in the beautiful forest. One day, Sammy found a paint set and decided to paint on the trees. He thought it would be fun to decorate the forest with his colorful designs. But his friend, Wise Owl, reminded him that trees are God's creation and we should take care of them.
Wise Owl explained to Sammy that just like the trees, our bodies are also God's creation, and we should treat them with respect and care. Sammy realized that he was like a special temple made by God, and he should keep himself healthy and strong.
From that day on, Sammy made sure to eat nutritious nuts and fruits, exercise by climbing trees, and get plenty of rest. He learned that taking care of himself was a way of honoring God's temple.

Life Application
This verse is talking about how our bodies are like a temple for God because He lives in us. So, it is important for us to take care of our bodies by being kind to ourselves and others, eating healthy food, getting enough rest, and making good choices. When we do these things, we are showing that we respect and honor the temple that God has given us. If someone is mean to themselves or others, it can hurt God's temple. So, children can apply this verse by treating themselves and others with love and respect, just like how God wants us to.
Craft or Activity
One fun activity to help children understand and remember the message of 1 Corinthians 3:17 is to create a "Temple of God" craft.
You can provide children with craft materials such as colorful paper, markers, stickers, and glue. Guide them to create a simple temple structure using the paper and decorations. While they are working on their craft, explain to them that our bodies are like temples of God, and we should take care of them because God lives in us.
Once they have completed their "Temple of God" craft, encourage them to proudly display it in their room or a special place at home. This hands-on activity can help reinforce the concept that we are God's temple and should treat our bodies with respect and care.
