Lesson: Matthew 6:32 (Ages 9-11)
📖 Matthew 6:32 – Ages 9-11
Explanation
In this verse, Jesus is telling us that we don't need to worry about things like food, clothes, or other stuff, because our heavenly Father knows what we need. He sees everything we need even before we ask Him!
Imagine if you were playing outside with your friends, and you got really thirsty. You might start to worry about not having any water to drink. But then, your mom or dad, who is watching you from the window, already knows you need water. They quickly come out with a refreshing glass of water for you. That's just like how our heavenly Father takes care of us!
So, just like how your parents know what you need, God knows even better. He loves us so much that He always provides for us. We can trust Him and not worry about things because He is always looking out for us with His loving care.
Kid's Story
Once upon a time, there was a little squirrel named Sammy who loved to collect acorns. He spent all day running around the forest, gathering more and more acorns, thinking he needed them to be happy.
One day, Sammy overheard the birds chirping about how the wise owl told them not to worry about where their next meal would come from. Intrigued, Sammy decided to visit the owl and ask for advice.
The wise owl explained to Sammy that just like the birds, he didn't need to worry about having enough acorns because his heavenly Father knew what he needed and would always provide for him.
From that day on, Sammy learned to trust in his heavenly Father's care and stopped worrying about collecting too many acorns. He realized that true happiness comes from knowing that God will always take care of him.
Prayer Prompt

Craft or Activity
Let's create a "Worry Jar" activity to help children understand and remember the message of Matthew 6:32. Provide each child with a small jar or container and some colorful paper strips. Ask the children to write down one worry or concern on each paper strip, such as school stress, friendship issues, or family concerns.
After writing down their worries, have the children fold the paper strips and place them inside the jar. Encourage them to share their worries with God through prayer, just like how the verse reminds us that our heavenly Father knows our needs.
As a closing activity, have the children seal the jar and decorate it with stickers or drawings. Remind them that they can trust God with their worries, knowing that He cares for them and will provide for their needs.
Memory Verse or Rhyme
When worries start to creep and sway,
Remember what our Lord did say,
Pagans chase things day and night,
But God knows our needs just right!
