Lesson: Romans 3:24 (Ages 3-5)
📖 Romans 3:24 – Ages 3-5
Explanation
In this Bible verse, it says that we can be friends with God because of His love for us. Imagine if you borrowed your friend's favorite toy and accidentally broke it. Your friend might be upset, but then you say sorry and your friend forgives you because they care about you. That's like how God forgives us for the mistakes we make because He loves us so much.
When it talks about being made right with God, it means that when we say sorry for the things we do wrong and ask God for forgiveness, He cleans our hearts and makes us feel happy and good inside again.
God's grace is like a big, warm hug from Him when we do something wrong. We don't have to earn it or pay for it because He freely gives it to us out of love.
Redemption in Christ Jesus means that Jesus helps us start fresh and new when we ask Him for forgiveness. It's like getting a brand new toy after breaking the old one, but even better because Jesus helps us become better people on the inside.
So remember, God loves us so much that He forgives us when we make mistakes, and He is always ready to help us feel happy and loved again.
Kid's Story
Once upon a time, in a cozy forest, there was a little squirrel named Sammy. Sammy loved collecting nuts but sometimes he would accidentally drop them and they would get lost. One day, Sammy's friend Owl told him about a special tree where all lost things could be found.
Excited, Sammy went to the tree and found all his lost nuts there. He was overjoyed! Owl explained that just like how Sammy found his lost nuts freely, God gives us the gift of being made right with Him freely through Jesus. This means that even though we make mistakes, God forgives us because of His love and grace.
From that day on, Sammy shared his nuts with all his forest friends, showing them the same love and grace he had learned from God.
Prayer Prompt
Dear God, thank you for loving us so much that you make us right with you through your grace and through Jesus. Help us remember that we are saved by your love and not because of anything we do. Amen.

Life Application
God's grace means that we can be forgiven and made right with God even though we don't deserve it. We can show grace to others by forgiving them when they make mistakes, just like God forgives us. We can also remember that we are all special to God, and we can show kindness and love to everyone, just like Jesus did for us.
Craft or Activity
Let's create a simple craft to help children understand and remember the message of Romans 3:24. You can have the children make a "Grace Rainbow."
For this activity, provide each child with a paper plate and colorful strips of construction paper. On each strip of paper, have the children write or draw things that represent God's grace - such as love, forgiveness, Jesus, the cross, and salvation.
Once they have written or drawn on all the strips, help the children glue the strips around the edge of the paper plate to create a rainbow effect. As they create their Grace Rainbow, you can explain to them how God freely offers His grace to us through Jesus Christ, and how we are made right with God because of His love and redemption.
This hands-on activity will not only engage the children but also help reinforce the message of Romans 3:24 in a fun and creative way.
Memory Verse or Rhyme
In Jesus, we are set free,
By God's grace, He loves you and me.
His love is big, His love is true,
Through Jesus, we are made brand new!
