Lesson: 1 Thessalonians 5:24 (Ages 6-8)

📖 1 Thessalonians 5:24 – Ages 6-8

Explanation

God is like a big, strong superhero who always keeps His promises. When He says He will do something, He always does it because He is super faithful. Just like when a good friend promises to share their toys with you and they always do, God promises to take care of us and help us, and He always keeps His word.

So, when the Bible says, "The One who calls you is faithful, and He will do it," it means that we can trust God completely. When He asks us to do something or promises to help us, we can be sure that He will follow through because He is trustworthy and true to His word. Just like how the sun rises every morning without fail, God's love and faithfulness are always there for us, shining bright in our lives.

Kid's Story

Once upon a time, there was a little squirrel named Sammy who loved to collect acorns. One day, he found a giant acorn that he really wanted to take home, but it was too heavy for him to carry.

Feeling discouraged, Sammy remembered a verse he had learned in Sunday school, "The One who calls you is faithful, and He will do it." With renewed hope, Sammy asked God to help him bring the acorn home.

As Sammy started to push the acorn, he felt a gentle breeze lifting it up. To his amazement, the acorn floated beside him all the way home! Sammy realized that God had helped him, just like the verse said.

From then on, whenever Sammy faced a challenge, he remembered that God is faithful and will always help him.

Prayer Prompt

Dear God, thank you for always being faithful and for calling us to be close to You. Help us to trust that You will always keep your promises and take care of us. Amen.

Craft or Activity

One fun activity to help children understand and remember the message of 1 Thessalonians 5:24 is to create a "Faithful God Promise Jar."

1. Start by decorating a jar with colorful stickers, markers, or paints. You can also tie a ribbon around the lid for a special touch.

2. Cut small strips of paper and have the children write or draw things they are trusting God to help them with. Encourage them to think about their hopes, dreams, and challenges.

3. Once the strips of paper are filled out, fold them and place them inside the jar.

4. Label the jar with the Bible verse, 1 Thessalonians 5:24, "The One who calls you is faithful, and He will do it."

5. Explain to the children that whenever they feel worried or uncertain, they can pick a paper from the jar to remind them that God is faithful and will help them.

This hands-on activity not only reinforces the message of the Bible verse but also encourages children to trust in God's faithfulness in their own lives.
