Lesson: Mark 2:3 (Ages 6-8)
📖 Mark 2:3 – Ages 6-8
Explanation
This Bible verse tells us about a group of friends who wanted to help their paralyzed friend. When they heard about Jesus and how He could heal people, they decided to bring their friend to Him.
Imagine if one of your friends couldn't walk and needed help to go places. These friends loved their paralyzed friend so much that they carried him on a mat all the way to where Jesus was teaching. They knew Jesus could help their friend, so they made a plan to get him there.
Just like these friends, we can also help our friends when they are in need. We can show love and kindness by being there for them, just like Jesus is always there for us. Jesus sees our hearts and appreciates when we care for others.
So, this verse teaches us about friendship, love, and helping one another, just as Jesus has taught us to do.
Kid's Story
Once upon a time, in a small village, there was a kind monkey named Milo. Milo loved to help his friends and make them smile. One day, Milo saw a squirrel named Sammy who had hurt his leg and couldn’t walk.
Milo remembered the Bible verse that said, "They came to Him bringing a paralyzed man, carried by four of them." So, he gathered his three best friends, a rabbit, a bird, and a mouse, to help carry Sammy to the wise owl for help.
Together, they carefully lifted Sammy onto a soft leaf stretcher and carried him through the forest. Just like in the Bible verse, they worked together to help their friend in need. The wise owl healed Sammy’s leg, and soon he was able to run and play again.
Milo and his friends learned that when we work together and help each other, we can make a big difference, just like the four friends who carried the paralyzed man to Jesus.

Craft or Activity
Let's create a simple diorama to bring this Bible verse to life! You can use a shoebox or any small box as the base. Draw and cut out figures of Jesus and the paralyzed man. Then make smaller figures of four people carrying the paralyzed man on a mat. Place them in the box to recreate the scene. As you assemble the diorama, talk about how these friends worked together to bring the paralyzed man to Jesus, showing love and faith. This hands-on activity will help you remember the message of Mark 2:3 and the importance of helping others in need.
