Lesson: 2 Corinthians 8:9 (Ages 3-5)
📖 2 Corinthians 8:9 – Ages 3-5
Explanation
Jesus was very rich in Heaven, where He had everything He could ever want. But do you know what? He loves us so much that He left all of that behind and came to Earth as a baby, born in a stable and not in a fancy palace. He became poor for us.
He did this so that we could become rich in a different way. Not with money or toys, but rich in love, kindness, and all the good things that make our hearts happy. Jesus showed us that true richness comes from caring for others and sharing what we have with those who need it.
Just like how Jesus shared His love with us, we can share our toys, our snacks, and our hugs with others. When we do that, we become rich in a special way, just like Jesus wanted for us.
Kid's Story
Once upon a time, there was a little squirrel named Sammy who loved collecting acorns. Sammy had a big tree full of acorns, and he was very proud of it. One day, he met a friend, a bird named Bella, who didn't have any food to eat.
Seeing Bella hungry, Sammy remembered the verse from 2 Corinthians 8:9 that said Jesus became poor so we could become rich. Sammy decided to share his acorns with Bella, even though he loved them so much. He gave half of his acorns to Bella, making her very happy.
Sammy learned that just like Jesus shared His riches with us, he could also share what he had with his friends. And even though he had fewer acorns, his heart felt full of joy and love for helping his friend.
