Lesson: 1 Corinthians 14:39 (Ages 6-8)

📖 1 Corinthians 14:39 – Ages 6-8

Explanation

In this Bible verse, God is telling us that it's important to share His message with others and to not stop others from talking about Him in different languages.

Imagine if you had a really exciting secret to tell your friends, like how much you love them or a fun game to play. God wants us to be just as excited to tell others about Him and share His love with everyone we meet.

Just like how you might use different words or ways to tell your friends about your favorite toy, people who love God may talk about Him in different languages too. God wants us to be open to hearing about Him in all kinds of ways so we can learn more about His love and how we can follow Him better.

So, let's be eager to share God's love with others and be open to hearing about Him in all different ways, just like how we love to share our favorite things with our friends!

Kid's Story

Once upon a time, in a sunny village, there was a playful squirrel named Sammy. Sammy loved chattering with his friends and telling them stories.

One day, at a big forest gathering, Sammy was nervous to share a story because he thought his friends wouldn't understand. But his wise owl friend, Olivia, whispered, "Sammy, remember what the Bible says about sharing stories and not being afraid."

Sammy took a deep breath and started sharing his tale. To his surprise, his friends listened carefully and loved his story! They even shared their own stories too.

From that day on, Sammy remembered to be eager to share his stories and listen to others too. Just like the Bible verse says, he learned that sharing stories and speaking from the heart is a special way to connect with friends and spread love.

Prayer Prompt

Life Application

This Bible verse is encouraging us to be eager to share God's message with others and to not prevent others from expressing their love for God in different ways, like speaking in tongues.

Children can apply this message in their everyday life by being excited to share stories from the Bible with their family and friends, or by showing kindness and love to others like Jesus did. They can also remember to respect and support others who may express their love for God in different ways, even if it may be unfamiliar to them. By doing so, children can spread God's love and kindness wherever they go.

Craft or Activity

To help children understand and remember the message of 1 Corinthians 14:39, you can have them create a "Message Reminder Jar."

1. Provide each child with a small jar or container and some colorful paper strips.
2. Ask the children to write or draw ways they can share God's message with others on the paper strips. This could include things like encouraging a friend, sharing a Bible verse, or praying for someone in need.
3. Once the strips are filled out, have the children fold them and place them in the jar.
4. Encourage the children to pick out a message from the jar each day and find a way to put that message into action.
5. Throughout the week, discuss with the children how they are fulfilling the message of being eager to share God's message with others, just like the verse in 1 Corinthians 14:39 encourages.

This hands-on activity will not only help children understand the importance of sharing God's message but also provide them with practical ways to do so in their everyday lives.
