Lesson: 1 Peter 1:3 (Ages 6-8)
📖 1 Peter 1:3 – Ages 6-8
Explanation
God is like a loving parent who takes care of us. He is happy and blessed because He is so good to us. Because God is so kind and loving, He gave us a new life full of hope through Jesus. Just like how a seed grows into a beautiful flower, when we believe in Jesus, we are given a fresh start and a bright future. Jesus coming back to life after dying on the cross shows us that we can have new beginnings too. God's love for us is so big that He wants us to have a happy and hopeful life with Him forever.
Kid's Story
Once upon a time, there was a little bunny named Benny. Benny loved hopping around the meadow, but one day, he hurt his leg and couldn't hop anymore. He felt sad and scared.
One day, a kind squirrel named Sammy told Benny about the story of Jesus and how He rose from the dead to give us hope. Benny listened carefully and prayed to Jesus to help heal his leg.
Soon enough, Benny's leg healed, and he could hop again! He was filled with joy and thanked Jesus for his new beginning. From that day on, Benny remembered that just like Jesus gave him a new start, he could also start fresh every day with hope and joy in his heart.
And so, Benny hopped around the meadow, spreading happiness and telling all his friends about the living hope Jesus gives us.

God has shown us great mercy by giving us new life and a living hope through Jesus' resurrection. Children can apply this verse in their daily lives by being thankful to God for His mercy and the hope they have in Jesus. They can remember this when they face challenges at home, school, or with friends, knowing that Jesus gives them hope and strength. Encourage them to share this hope with others by showing kindness, love, and forgiveness, just as Jesus has shown to us.
Craft or Activity
Let's create a "New Birth" craft to help children understand and remember the message of 1 Peter 1:3. You can provide each child with a small flowerpot, some soil, and seeds. As they plant the seeds in the soil, explain that, just like a seed grows into a new plant, God gives us new life and hope through Jesus' resurrection. Encourage them to care for their plant as a reminder of the new birth we have in Christ. They can decorate the flowerpot with verses or phrases from 1 Peter 1:3 to reinforce the message.

Let's clap and sing, let's have some fun,
Remembering God's love for everyone.
He gives us new birth, a hope so bright,
Through Jesus' resurrection, shining light!
