Lesson: Acts 15:36 (Ages 3-5)
📖 Acts 15:36 – Ages 3-5
Explanation
Paul and Barnabas were friends who traveled to different towns to tell people about Jesus. They wanted to go back to these towns to visit their friends who believed in Jesus to see how they were doing. Just like how you check in on your friends to see how they are feeling or if they need help, Paul and Barnabas wanted to do the same for their friends in those towns. It's important to show love and care for others, just like how Paul and Barnabas cared for their friends in different towns.
Kid's Story
Once upon a time, there was a friendly bunny named Benny who loved to hop around and spread joy wherever he went. One day, Benny remembered a special verse from the Bible that said to check on friends and family to make sure they were okay.
Excited to follow this advice, Benny hopped over to his friend Sammy the Squirrel's treehouse. He found Sammy feeling a little sad and lonely. Benny sat down and listened as Sammy shared his feelings.
After spending time with Sammy, Benny felt happy that he could help his friend feel better. Just like Paul and Barnabas in the Bible verse, Benny learned the importance of checking on others and making sure they are doing well.
From that day on, Benny made sure to visit his friends often to spread happiness and show that he cared.

One fun activity to help children understand and remember the message of Acts 15:36 is to create a "Friendship Chain." Provide children with strips of paper and encourage them to write or draw the names of friends or family members they would like to visit and spend time with, just like Paul and Barnabas wanted to visit the brothers and sisters in different towns. Then, help the children connect the strips of paper to create a chain that symbolizes the importance of staying connected and caring for others, just as Paul and Barnabas cared for the people they had preached to.
