Lesson: Acts 26:19 (Ages 3-5)

📖 Acts 26:19 – Ages 3-5

Explanation

When Paul said, "So then, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision," he meant that he listened to God and followed what God wanted him to do. Just like when your mommy or daddy tells you to clean up your toys, and you listen and do it, Paul listened to God's special message and did what God asked him to do.

God had a special plan for Paul, and he didn't ignore it or say no. He obeyed God because he loved Him very much. It's like when you listen to your teacher at school or your grandparents at home because you love and trust them.

So, when we hear God's voice in our hearts or read His words in the Bible, we can remember Paul and choose to obey Him too. God loves us and has good plans for us, just like He did for Paul.

Kid's Story

Once upon a time, there was a little squirrel named Sammy who loved to climb trees and gather acorns. One day, Sammy had a special dream where a wise owl told him to share his acorns with other animals in need.

At first, Sammy was unsure because he loved his acorns so much. But then he remembered the verse Acts 26:19, "So then, Sammy, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision." Sammy realized he needed to listen to his dream and be generous like the owl had shown him.

So, Sammy shared his acorns with his friends, the birds and rabbits. They were so happy and grateful! Sammy felt joy in his heart for obeying the vision from his dream, just like King Agrippa in the Bible story.

And from that day on, Sammy learned that following heavenly visions brought happiness and blessings to everyone around him.

Prayer Prompt

Dear God, thank you for showing us your wonderful plans. Help us to listen and obey your special messages just like Paul did. Amen.

Discussion Questions

What do you think it means to be disobedient?
Why do you think it's important to listen to God's vision for us?

How do you feel when you obey God's instructions?

Life Application

This Bible verse is about obeying God's vision for your life. For young children, this can mean listening to what God wants them to do, like being kind to others, helping their family, or being honest. They can apply this by obeying their parents, teachers, and being a good friend to others. Remembering to do what is right and following God's plan for them can help them grow in their faith and make good choices in their everyday life.

Craft or Activity

To help children understand and remember Acts 26:19, you can create a simple craft activity. Have the children draw a picture of an eye or vision on a piece of paper. Then, help them write the Bible verse "So then, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision" around the drawing. Encourage them to color and decorate the drawing however they like. As they work on the craft, you can explain that just like Paul was obedient to the vision God gave him, we can also listen and obey God's voice in our lives.

Memory Verse or Rhyme

In God's plan, I choose to obey,
Like Paul did without delay.
King Agrippa heard his decision clear,
To follow God's vision without fear!

Songs or Videos

One Christian song for kids that relates to the message of Acts 26:19 is "I Will Obey." This song emphasizes the importance of obeying God's word and following His plan for our lives. Another great song is "Trust and Obey," which teaches children the significance of trusting and obeying God. Both songs help reinforce the message of being obedient to God's calling, just like Paul was not disobedient to the heavenly vision in Acts 26:19.
