Lesson: Acts 27:44 (Ages 3-5)
📖 Acts 27:44 – Ages 3-5
Explanation
In this Bible verse, it tells us about a time when some people were in a big boat that broke into pieces during a storm. But even though the boat was broken, God made sure everyone got to the land safely.
Imagine you're playing with a toy boat in the bathtub, and it accidentally breaks into pieces. You might feel scared or worried, just like the people on the big boat. But just like how your toy boat can still float even if it's in pieces, God helped the people on the broken boat reach the land safely.
God's love and protection are always with us, even when things seem broken or scary. Just like how the people held onto planks and debris to stay safe, we can hold onto God's love and trust that He will always guide us to safety, no matter what happens.
Kid's Story
Once upon a time, there was a little squirrel named Sammy who lived by the river. One day, a big storm hit, and Sammy's tree was knocked down into the water. He was scared and didn't know what to do. But then he remembered a verse from the Bible - Acts 27:44.
Sammy saw some planks floating by, so he hopped on one and started paddling towards the shore. Along the way, he found some pieces of debris from the storm, and he used them to help other animals who were struggling in the water.
With everyone working together and helping each other, they all reached the safety of the shore. Sammy learned that even in scary times, God can help us find a way to safety if we trust Him and work together.
Prayer Prompt
Dear God, thank you for keeping us safe just like you did for the people in the Bible story from Acts 27:44. Help us always remember that you are with us, even when things seem scary, and that you will guide us to safety. Amen.

Life Application
Just like how everyone on the ship reached land safely by following different ways, young children can remember to help each other and work together to ensure everyone is safe and happy. They can be kind to their friends by sharing toys or helping them when they are sad. At home, they can assist their family members with chores or listen to their parents' instructions. By working together and supporting one another, just like the people on the ship, children can create a loving and safe environment for everyone around them.
Craft or Activity
To help young children understand and remember Acts 27:44, you can create a simple boat craft. You can use materials like paper plates, popsicle sticks, and construction paper to make mini boats. Then, you can have the children decorate the boats with markers or stickers.
As the children play with their boats, you can explain the verse by telling them the story of Paul and his companions reaching land safely on planks and debris from the ship. Encourage the children to imagine themselves on the boats, just like the people in the Bible story. This hands-on activity can help them visualize the message of the verse and understand how God kept them safe.
Memory Verse or Rhyme
When the ship broke apart, sailors were tossed,
Some on planks, some on debris, not feeling lost.
God kept them safe, He had a plan,
Everyone reached land, just as He planned!
