Lesson: Acts 4:14 (Ages 6-8)

📖 Acts 4:14 – Ages 6-8

Explanation

In Acts 4:14, the Bible tells us about a man who was very sick but then got healed by Jesus. Imagine if you had a friend who was very sick and couldn't walk, but one day, they were able to stand up and play with you because they got better. That's what happened in this story!

When the leaders saw the man who had been healed standing there healthy and strong, they were so surprised that they couldn't say anything against it. It was like when you do something really good, and people are so amazed that they don't know what to say because they didn't expect it.

This verse teaches us that sometimes, when people see the amazing things God does in our lives, they might not understand it or know how to argue against it. It shows us that God's power and love are so strong that they can leave others speechless.

So remember, just like how the man's healing left the leaders silent, God's love and miracles can leave people in awe and wonder. Trust in God's wonderful works, and know that His power is greater than anything we can imagine.

Kid's Story

Once upon a time, in a bustling village, there was a kind-hearted squirrel named Sammy. Sammy loved to help his friends and spread joy wherever he went. One day, a bird named Benny hurt his wing and couldn't fly.

Sammy saw Benny struggling and decided to help. He found a cozy nest for Benny to rest and brought him tasty nuts and berries every day. Soon enough, Benny's wing healed, and he could fly again!

The other animals in the village were amazed to see Benny flying high in the sky. They had doubted that Sammy could help, but when they saw Benny soaring with joy, they had nothing to say in opposition. They learned that even the smallest creatures can make a big difference when they show kindness and help others in need, just like Sammy did for Benny.

Prayer Prompt

Dear God, thank you for healing the man in Acts 4:14 and showing your power. Help us to trust in you and remember that nothing is impossible for you. Amen.

Discussion Questions

1. Why do you think the people had nothing to say in opposition when they saw the man who had been healed standing with Peter and John?
2. How do you think the man felt after being healed and standing with Peter and John?
3. Can you think of a time when you saw something amazing that made you speechless, like the people in this Bible verse?
4. Why do you think it's important to stand up for what is good and true, like Peter and John did in this story?
5. How can we show others the power of God's love and healing, just like Peter and John did for the man in this Bible verse?

Life Application

This Bible verse teaches us that when we see God's work and miracles happening around us, we should stand in awe and not be quick to oppose or doubt. Children can apply this by being open to recognizing God's work in their lives, such as when someone gets better from being sick or when a problem is solved unexpectedly. Instead of questioning or being skeptical, they can choose to trust in God's power and goodness. This can help them have a grateful and positive attitude in different situations, whether at home, school, or with friends.

When the man was healed, they couldn't say a peep,
Acts 4:14 shows the power God's love can reap.

Songs or Videos

One great Christian song for kids that relates to the message of Acts 4:14 is "God's Not Dead" by Newsboys. This song talks about how powerful God is and how He can do amazing things, just like the healing of the man in Acts 4.

Another wonderful song is "My Lighthouse" by Rend Collective. This song reminds us that God is our lighthouse, guiding us through every storm and situation just like He guided the man who was healed in Acts 4.
