Lesson: Acts 7:35 (Ages 9-11)
📖 Acts 7:35 – Ages 9-11
Explanation
In this verse from the Bible, it talks about Moses, who was sent by God to lead the people of Israel. At first, the people didn't believe Moses was chosen by God because they didn't see him as a ruler or judge.
But even though the people didn't think Moses was the right person for the job, God knew that Moses was special. God sent an angel to speak to Moses through a burning bush, and that's when Moses realized he was chosen by God to be a leader and to help his people.
This verse teaches us that sometimes people may doubt us or not see our potential, but God knows who we are meant to be. Just like how God saw Moses as a great leader, God sees each of us for who we truly are and has a special plan for each of us.
So, even when others may not believe in us, we can trust that God believes in us and has a purpose for us just like he did for Moses. It's a reminder that God can turn doubts into something amazing and use us for wonderful things, just like he did with Moses.
Kid's Story
Once upon a time, in a magical forest, there was a little squirrel named Sammy. Sammy loved to be in charge and tell the other animals what to do. One day, all the animals needed someone to help them solve a big problem, but when Sammy tried to help, they all said, "Who made you the ruler?"
Feeling sad and rejected, Sammy ran off into the forest and found a mysterious bush that was on fire but wasn't burning up. Suddenly, an angel appeared and told Sammy that even though others may not see it, God had a special plan for him to be a leader and helper to all the animals in the forest.
From that day on, Sammy learned that God can use anyone, even those who feel rejected or overlooked, to do amazing things and help others in need, just like He did with Moses.
Prayer Prompt
Dear God, thank you for sending Moses to be a ruler and deliverer for your people. Help us to remember that sometimes people may not see the special plans you have for us, but you always know the best way for us to serve you. Amen.

Life Application
Just like how Moses was doubted and rejected by others but ultimately chosen and used by God, children can remember that they are also chosen and loved by God. Even if others doubt them or make them feel small, they can trust that God has a special plan and purpose for their lives. Children can apply this message by being confident in who they are, knowing that God is with them and will help them overcome any challenges they face. They can also show kindness and forgiveness to others who may doubt or reject them, just as Moses forgave those who doubted him.
Craft or Activity
Let's create a craft where children can make a paper chain with different colors to represent the rejection of Moses by his people and then his role as a ruler and deliverer chosen by God. Each link in the chain can have a different color to represent a different part of the story. Children can write or draw on each link to show their understanding of Moses being rejected and then chosen by God. This hands-on activity will help reinforce the message of Acts 7:35 in a creative and engaging way.
Memory Verse or Rhyme
In Egypt's land, Moses did rise,
Rejected once, to their surprise.
God's chosen one, ruler He became,
Deliverer sent, in His holy name!
Through the burning bush, God's plan unfurled,
Moses led His people to a new world!
