Lesson: Luke 10:41 (Ages 3-5)
📖 Luke 10:41 – Ages 3-5
Explanation
In this verse, Jesus is talking to Martha, who was busy trying to do many things at once. He tells her that she is feeling worried and upset because she has a lot on her mind. Sometimes, we can feel like Martha when we have too many things to do and start feeling overwhelmed.
Just like when you have a big puzzle with lots of pieces, and you feel frustrated because you don't know where to start. Jesus is reminding us that it's okay to take a break, ask for help, and spend time with Him. He wants us to remember that spending time with Him is most important, just like putting the puzzle pieces together one by one.
So, when you feel like there are too many things going on, remember to take a deep breath, ask for help, and spend time with Jesus. He loves us and wants to help us feel calm and peaceful, just like when all the puzzle pieces finally fit together perfectly.
Kid's Story
Once there was a little bunny named Bella who loved to host tea parties for her friends. One day, as she prepared for a big party, Bella got very busy and worried about everything being perfect - the cups, the snacks, and the decorations.
While she rushed around, her friend Lily the ladybug noticed Bella looking worried and upset. Lily gently reminded Bella that spending time with friends is more important than everything being perfect.
Bella stopped, took a deep breath, and realized that Lily was right. She sat down with her friends and had a wonderful time, giggling and chatting without worrying about the little details.
Just like Martha in the Bible story, Bella learned that it's okay to relax and enjoy the moment with loved ones, even if everything isn't perfect.

Life Application
In this verse from the Bible, Jesus is speaking to Martha and telling her that she is worried and upset about many things. For young children, this verse can teach them to not worry too much about things that are not important.
Children can apply this message in their real life by remembering that it's okay to take breaks and not get too upset if things don't go the way they planned. They can practice being calm and patient when things get overwhelming, whether it's at home, school, or with friends.
When children feel worried or upset, they can talk to God in prayer, just like Martha spoke to Jesus. They can ask God to help them feel better and trust that He will take care of them. This verse reminds children that it's important to focus on what truly matters and not let worries take over their hearts.
Craft or Activity
Let's create a "Worry Jar" craft activity!
You can have the child decorate a small jar with stickers, markers, or paint. Then, explain to them that whenever they feel worried or upset about something, they can write it down on a piece of paper and put it in the jar.
This can serve as a visual reminder that just like Martha, we sometimes get worried and upset about many things, but we can give our worries to the Lord and trust Him to take care of us. Encourage the child to pray about their worries and remember that Jesus is always there to help them feel calm and peaceful.
Memory Verse or Rhyme
Martha, Martha, don't you see,
Jesus says, "Don't worry, come to Me."
When life gets busy, remember this line,
Jesus is with us, everything's fine!
Songs or Videos
One Christian song that relates to the message of Luke 10:41 is "Cast Your Burdens (Psalm 55:22)" by The Donut Man. This song reminds us to give our worries and concerns to the Lord, just like Martha was reminded by Jesus in the Bible verse.
Another great song is "Do Not Worry (Matthew 6:25-34)" by Listener Kids. While this song is based on a different Bible verse, it reinforces the same message of not letting worries overwhelm us, but instead trusting in God's provision and care.
