Lesson: Luke 4:41 (Ages 9-11)
📖 Luke 4:41 – Ages 9-11
Explanation
In this Bible verse, we learn about a powerful moment when Jesus cast out demons from people. These demons knew who Jesus was, that He was the Son of God, and they even knew He was the Messiah, the chosen one sent by God to save the world.
When the demons shouted out who Jesus was, He didn't let them speak because He didn't want evil spirits to spread the news about Him. Jesus wanted people to come to know Him through His teachings, His love, and His miracles, not through the words of demons.
This verse teaches us that even the demons recognized Jesus as special and powerful. It shows us that Jesus has authority over all evil forces, and He is the one true Messiah who came to bring light and love into the world.
Just like how Jesus protected His identity from the demons, we can remember to focus on what is good and true in our lives. We can trust in Jesus to guide us away from things that may try to distract us from His love and teachings.
Kid's Story
Once upon a time, in a magical forest, there was a brave little squirrel named Sammy. Sammy loved exploring new places and meeting new friends. One day, he came across a group of mischievous woodland creatures who were acting strangely.
The creatures were shouting, "You are the bravest squirrel in the forest!" Sammy felt proud but soon realized something was not right. He remembered a story his friend Owl had told him about Jesus and the demons who recognized Him as the Son of God.
Sammy knew he needed to be careful. Just like Jesus, he rebuked the creatures and kindly told them not to speak falsely. He explained that only Jesus was truly the Son of God. The creatures listened and understood. From that day on, Sammy taught his friends the importance of speaking the truth and honoring God's name.

Life Application
This verse from Luke teaches us that even demons recognized Jesus as the Son of God, but He did not allow them to speak because He wanted people to come to know Him on their own, not just because demons said so. Children can apply this message by understanding that true faith in Jesus comes from their own hearts, not just from what others tell them. They can remember to seek a personal relationship with Jesus through prayer, reading the Bible, and talking to trusted adults about their faith. This verse also reminds children to be discerning about the voices they listen to and to focus on what God says about them, rather than what others may say.

Memory Verse or Rhyme
When demons shout and make a fuss,
Jesus is the Son of God, they'd discuss.
He silenced them with a stern command,
For He's the Messiah, the one who will stand.
Remember, dear child, Jesus is the One,
The Son of God, God's own beloved Son.
So when doubts or fears start to creep,
Trust in Jesus, His love is deep.
