Lesson: Revelation 1:11 (Ages 9-11)

📖 Revelation 1:11 – Ages 9-11

Explanation

In this verse from the book of Revelation, God tells John to write down everything he sees in a special message for seven different churches. It’s like when you write a letter to your friends, but in this case, John is writing to these churches to tell them important things from God.

Just like how you might write a letter to a friend who lives far away to let them know you’re thinking of them and want to share something special, God wanted John to write to these churches to share important messages and reminders with them.

Each of these churches had different things going on, and God had specific messages for each of them. It’s kind of like how sometimes your friends might need different advice or encouragement based on what’s happening in their lives.

So, in this verse, we learn that God cares about each of these churches and wants to make sure they know what they need to hear to stay close to Him and live in a way that pleases Him. It’s a reminder that God loves us so much that He wants to communicate with us and guide us in our lives, just like how a good friend would want to help you when you need it.

Kid's Story

Once upon a time, in a magical land called Bibletown, there was a curious bunny named Benny. One sunny day, Benny found a mysterious scroll with beautiful writing on it. The scroll told him to write down what he saw and send it to seven different bunny villages.

Excited and a little nervous, Benny set out on a journey to deliver the scroll. Along the way, he met new friends and saw amazing things in each village. When he reached the last village, he realized that the messages he carried were all about love, kindness, and faith.

Benny learned that just like he shared the scroll’s messages with others, he could also share love and kindness wherever he went. And that's how Benny the bunny became known as the messenger of love in Bibletown, spreading joy to all the villages he visited.

Life Application

In Revelation 1:11, Jesus instructed John to write down what he saw and send it to the seven churches. Children aged 9-11 can apply this message by understanding the importance of sharing God's Word with others. Just as John was told to share the message with specific churches, children can share the teachings of Jesus with their family, friends, and classmates. They can share stories from the Bible, talk about God's love, or even invite others to church or Sunday school. By spreading God's message of love and hope, they can be a light in their own communities and help others know more about Jesus.

Craft or Activity

Let's create a fun craft to help understand Revelation 1:11! You can make a scroll by rolling up a piece of paper and tying it with a ribbon or string. On the scroll, write or draw symbols representing each of the seven churches mentioned in the verse: Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea. This hands-on activity will help you remember the message of writing on a scroll and sending it to the seven churches.

Memory Verse or Rhyme

In Revelation Chapter One, verse eleven,
John was told to write in heaven,
To the churches seven, he must send,
Messages from Jesus, His love to lend!
Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum too,
Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea in the view,
Remember these names, in your heart they stay,
Sharing God's Word in a special way!
