Lesson: Revelation 12:12 (Ages 6-8)

📖 Revelation 12:12 – Ages 6-8

Explanation

In this verse, it's like a story about a battle between good and evil. Imagine the heavens as a happy, safe place where God and the angels live. They are told to rejoice, which means to be really happy, because they know that God will win the battle against the devil.

But on the earth and the sea, where we live, there is trouble coming. The devil is like a very angry enemy who knows he doesn't have much time left before God defeats him. So, he's trying to cause trouble and make people sad.

But we don't need to be afraid, because God is stronger than the devil. We can trust God to protect us and help us be brave when we face difficult things. The verse reminds us that even when things seem scary, we can find comfort in knowing that God is always with us, watching over us with love and strength.

Kid's Story

Once upon a time, in a colorful garden, lived a curious butterfly named Bella. Bella loved to flutter around, exploring every flower and tree. One sunny day, she overheard a wise owl reading from a big book. The owl explained that the devil was very angry because he knew his time was short.

Bella felt a little scared but remembered the owl’s words. She decided to spread happiness and kindness wherever she flew. Bella made friends with the busy bees, played with the chirping birds, and shared her colorful wings with the flowers. The garden became a joyful place.

One day, a dark storm cloud covered the sky, and the devil’s angry voice echoed. But Bella, with her newfound friends, lifted their voices in song and prayers. The storm passed, and the garden shone brightly again. Bella learned that spreading love and joy can defeat darkness.

Prayer Prompt

Dear God, thank you for protecting us from the devil's anger. Help us to remember that even when things feel hard, you are with us and will always keep us safe. Amen.

Life Application

This verse reminds us that even though the devil may try to cause trouble and be angry, we can find joy and hope in knowing that God is in control. Children can apply this message by choosing to focus on the good things around them, like spending time with their family, being kind to their friends, and helping others. When they face challenges or feel upset, they can remember that God is with them and they can find comfort and peace in Him. By trusting in God's love and protection, children can have faith that no matter what happens, they can overcome any difficulties with His help.

Craft or Activity

One fun activity to help children understand and remember the message of Revelation 12:12 is to create a simple diorama. You can use a shoebox or any small box as the base. Have the child create a scene of heaven at the top of the box with happy faces and joyful characters to represent the rejoicing in heaven. Then at the bottom of the box, create a scene of the earth and sea with a fierce-looking devil to symbolize his rage and short time left.

As you work on the diorama together, you can talk about the verse and how even though the devil is angry and causing trouble on earth, there is still rejoicing in heaven because God is in control. This hands-on activity can help reinforce the message of the verse in a visual and memorable way for young children.

Memory Verse or Rhyme

When the devil comes down with a roar,
He knows his time on earth is poor.
Heaven sings with joy so bright,
For God's power will win the fight!
