Lesson: Revelation 7:7 (Ages 3-5)

📖 Revelation 7:7 – Ages 3-5

Explanation

In this special part of the Bible, it talks about how God chose 12,000 people from each of the tribes of Israel. It's like God picked out a group of friends from each family to be really close to Him.

Just like how you may have friends you like to play with at school or in your neighborhood, God also has His special friends who love Him very much. He picked a certain number from each family to be extra special to Him.

It's a way for us to remember that God loves all of us, from different families and places, and He wants us to be close to Him too. It's like having a big family with lots of friends who all love God together.

Kid's Story

Once upon a time, there was a little squirrel named Sammy who loved counting things. One day, Sammy counted 12 acorns from the tree of Simeon, 12 acorns from the tree of Levi, and 12 acorns from the tree of Issachar. He realized that each tree had exactly 12 acorns, just like the Bible verse said!

Sammy learned that just like each tree had 12 acorns, there were also 12,000 special people from each tribe in the Bible. God loved them all very much. Sammy was amazed at how God had a plan for each person, just like each acorn on the trees.

From that day on, Sammy remembered that he was special too, just like the people in the Bible. He felt happy knowing that God loved him and had a special plan for his life.

Prayer Prompt

Dear God, thank you for loving us and choosing us to be a part of your family. Help us to remember that you know each of us by name, just like you knew the tribes in the Bible. Amen.

Discussion Questions

1. Who do you think God is talking about when He mentions the tribes of Simeon, Levi, and Issachar in this verse?
2. Can you count to 12,000? That's a big number! Why do you think God chose that many people from each tribe?
3. How do you think these special people from each tribe are feeling knowing they are chosen by God?
4. Do you know what a tribe is? Can you name any other tribes from the Bible?
5. What do you think it means to be chosen by God? How can we show that we love and follow Him like these special people from the tribes?

Life Application

This verse from Revelation tells us about the special people chosen by God from different tribes. For young children, they can learn that just like God chose these people for a special purpose, God also has a special plan for each of them. Children can remember that they are unique and important to God, and they can show kindness and love to others at home, school, and with friends because God made them special and loves them very much.

Craft or Activity

Let's create a simple craft to help children understand the message of Revelation 7:7. You can provide children with different colored construction paper, markers, and stickers to represent the tribes of Simeon, Levi, and Issachar. Have them create three crowns, each with the name of one of the tribes written on it. This visual representation can help children remember the message and the importance of each tribe mentioned in the verse.

Memory Verse or Rhyme

Let's remember this verse, don't be blue,
12,000 from Simeon, Levi, and Issachar too!
God's love for all tribes, strong and true,
In Revelation 7:7, His promise for me and you!

Songs or Videos

One Christian song that relates to the message of Revelation 7:7 is "Every Tribe" by Seeds Family Worship. This song talks about how God's people come from every tribe and nation, just like the 12,000 from each tribe mentioned in Revelation.

Another song is "Revelation Song" by Kari Jobe. Though it doesn't specifically mention the 12,000 from each tribe, it beautifully captures the awe and worship of the heavenly scene described in Revelation, where people from all tribes and tongues praise God together.
