Lesson: Revelation 9:16 (Ages 9-11)

📖 Revelation 9:16 – Ages 9-11

Explanation

In this verse, the Bible is telling us about a huge army of horsemen. Imagine a super big army, even bigger than all the people you've ever seen in your life! This army is so massive that it's like having 10,000 soldiers, then multiplying that by 10,000 - that's a whole lot of horsemen!

It might sound scary, but this verse is teaching us that God is all-powerful and in control. He knows everything, even the exact number of soldiers in this mighty army. Just like how a teacher knows the number of students in a classroom, God knows everything about everyone.

This verse reminds us that God is always watching over us, protecting us, and keeping us safe. It's like having the biggest, strongest superhero on our side, looking out for us no matter what. So, we can trust God and feel secure knowing that He is with us through everything we face in life.

Kid's Story

Once upon a time, in a magical land, there was a brave little squirrel named Sammy. Sammy loved exploring the forest and meeting new friends. One day, Sammy overheard the birds chirping about a grand parade of mounted troops coming to the forest. Curious, Sammy scampered to the clearing to see for himself.

As the troops marched by, Sammy's eyes widened in amazement. There were so many of them, more than he had ever seen! Sammy's heart raced as he counted the troops, just like in the Bible verse. He realized that the number was too big to imagine!

Sammy learned that God's power is mighty and vast, just like the countless troops in the parade. From that day on, Sammy felt safe knowing that God's strength was always with him, no matter how big the challenge.

Prayer Prompt

Dear God, thank you for your mighty power and protection over us. Help us to remember that you are in control of everything, even when things seem scary or uncertain. Amen.

Life Application

This verse from Revelation is describing a vision of a vast army of mounted troops. While the imagery may seem intense, the message behind it can be applied to our lives in a simpler way.

For children aged 9-11, they can understand this verse as a reminder that God is all-powerful and has control over everything. When facing challenges at home, school, or with friends, they can remember that God is always with them and can help them through difficult situations.

Children can apply the message of this verse by trusting in God's strength and seeking His guidance when they feel overwhelmed or unsure. They can pray for wisdom and courage, knowing that God is their protector and source of strength in times of need. This verse can encourage children to rely on God's power and presence in their daily lives, bringing them comfort and peace in all circumstances.

Craft or Activity

Let's create a craft that helps illustrate the vast number of mounted troops mentioned in Revelation 9:16. You can use small toy soldiers or even draw stick figures on paper to represent the troops. Have the child group these soldiers into sets of ten, then have them count how many sets of ten they have. Next, multiply the number of sets of ten by 10,000. This will help them visualize the huge number described in the verse. You can also create a visual representation using drawings or cutouts to show the magnitude of the troops mentioned in the verse. This hands-on activity will make the concept more tangible and memorable for the child.

Memory Verse or Rhyme

In Revelation, chapter nine, verse sixteen,
Mounted troops like you've never seen,
Twice ten thousand times ten thousand strong,
Their number in the Bible belongs!

Songs or Videos

A great Christian song for kids that relates to the message of Revelation 9:16 is "Ten Thousand Angels" by Caedmon's Call. This song talks about the vast number of angels surrounding God's throne and emphasizes His power and majesty. Another wonderful song is "Revelation Song" by Kari Jobe, which also reflects the awe and wonder of the heavenly realm described in the book of Revelation. Both songs can help children understand the magnificence and greatness of God's heavenly armies as mentioned in Revelation 9:16.
