Matthew 5:14 – Ages 3-5
📖 Matthew 5:14 – Ages 3-5
Explanation
In this verse, Jesus is telling us that we are like a bright light in a dark world. Just like how a city on top of a hill can be seen from far away because of all its lights, we are meant to shine brightly for everyone to see.
Imagine you have a special flashlight that shines very brightly. When you turn it on, it helps everyone around you see better in the dark. That's what Jesus wants us to be – a light that helps others see and feel happy.
When we are kind, share, and love others, we are like that bright light on a hill. People will notice how special we are and how much we care for them. So, let's remember to be like a shining light, spreading love and kindness wherever we go, just like Jesus wants us to.
Kid's Story
Once upon a time, there was a little firefly named Sparkle. Sparkle loved to shine her light in the dark forest, guiding her friends through the night. One day, Sparkle met a wise old owl who told her about a special message from the Bible.
The owl explained, "Just like how you light up the forest, God wants us to shine brightly for others. You are like a city on a hill, Sparkle, never hidden but always seen."
Excited to share her light even more, Sparkle flew around the forest, spreading her glow to every corner. Soon, all the animals could see clearly in the dark, and they thanked Sparkle for being their source of light.
From that day on, Sparkle understood that she was a special light in the world, just like the Bible says.
