2 corinthians 4 (NMV)
1 Therefore, since we have this ministry because of the mercy shown to us, we do not lose heart.
2 Instead, we have renounced secret and shameful ways. We do not act deceitfully or distort the word of God, but by openly stating the truth we commend ourselves to everyone's conscience in the sight of God.
3 And even if our good news is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.
4 In their case, the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, so they cannot see the light of the good news of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
5 For we are not proclaiming ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake.
6 For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of God's glory in the face of Jesus Christ.
7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.
8 We are hard-pressed in every way but not crushed; perplexed but not driven to despair;
9 persecuted but not abandoned; struck down but not destroyed.
10 We always carry the death of Jesus in our bodies, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our bodies.
11 For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our mortal flesh.
12 So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.
13 But since we have the same spirit of faith in accordance with what is written: "I believed; therefore I spoke," we also believe and therefore speak,
14 knowing that the One who raised the Lord Jesus will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you.
15 For everything is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.
16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.
17 For our momentary light pressure and suffering is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison.
18 So we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
