1 Then He said to His disciples, "It is inevitable that traps to cause people to stumble will come, but woe to the one through whom they come!

2 It would be better for him to have a millstone hung around his neck and be thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to stumble.

3 Be careful with how you live. If your brother sins, speak to him about it; and if he turns back, forgive him.

4 Even if he sins against you seven times in a day and turns back to you seven times, saying, 'I repent,' you must forgive him."

5 The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith!"

6 The Lord said, "If you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.

7 Which of you, having a servant who is plowing or tending sheep, will say to him when he comes in from the field, 'Come at once and sit down to eat'?

8 Instead, won't he say, 'Prepare something for me to eat, and get yourself ready and serve me while I eat and drink; and afterward, you may eat and drink'?

9 Does he thank that servant because he did what was commanded? I don't think so.

10 In the same way, when you have done all that you were commanded, say, 'We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.'"

11 While traveling to Jerusalem, He passed between Samaria and Galilee.

12 As He entered a village, ten men with a skin disease met Him. They stood at a distance

13 and raised their voices, saying, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!"

14 When He saw them, He said, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." And while they were going, they were made clean.

15 But one of them, seeing that he was healed, turned back and praised God with a loud voice.

16 He fell facedown at Jesus' feet, thanking Him—and he was a Samaritan [a group despised by the Jews as spiritually corrupt and ethnically impure].

17 Then Jesus said, "Weren't ten made clean? Where are the other nine?

18 Did none return to give glory to God except this outsider?"

19 And He told him, "Get up and go on your way. Your faith has made you whole."

20 When He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them, "The kingdom of God is not something you can observe with your eyes.

21 No one will say, 'Look here!' or 'There it is!' For you see, the kingdom of God is already among you."

22 Then He told the disciples, "The days are coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.

23 They will say to you, 'Look there!' or 'Look here!' Don't go after them or run after them.

24 For as lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other, so will the Son of Man be in His day.

25 But first it is necessary for Him to suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.

26 Just as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of Man:

27 People were eating, drinking, marrying, and being given in marriage right up to the day Noah entered the ark, and then the flood came and destroyed them all.

28 It was the same as in the days of Lot: People were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, and building.

29 But on the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.

30 It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed.

31 On that day, anyone on the roof, with his belongings in the house, must not come down to get them. Likewise, anyone in the field must not turn back.

32 Remember Lot's wife.

33 Whoever tries to hold on to their life will lose it, but whoever lets go of it for My sake will receive true life.

34 I tell you, on that night two will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left.

35 Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left."

36 [Some manuscripts add: "Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left."]

37 "Where, Lord?" they asked Him. He replied, "Where the body is, there also the vultures will gather."
