Philippians 3 (NMV)

Chapters: 1 2 3 4

Finally, my brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you again is no trouble for me, and it is a safeguard for you.

Watch out for the dogs, watch out for the evil workers, watch out for those who mutilate the flesh.

For we are the true circumcision, the ones who worship by the Spirit of God, who boast in Christ Jesus, and do not put confidence in the flesh.

Though I have grounds for confidence in the flesh too. If anyone else thinks he has reason to be confident in the flesh, I have more:

circumcised on the eighth day, of the nation of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; regarding the law, a Pharisee;

regarding zeal, persecuting the church; regarding the righteousness that is in the law, blameless.

But whatever gain I had, I now consider it loss because of Christ.

More than that, I consider everything to be loss compared to the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For His sake I have suffered the loss of all things and consider them as worthless, so that I may gain Christ

and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own from the law, but one that is through faith in Christ, the righteousness that comes from God based on faith.

My goal is to know Him and the power of His resurrection and the sharing of His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death,

so that somehow I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

Not that I have already attained this or have already become complete, but I pursue it, so that I may take hold of that for which Christ Jesus also took hold of me.

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it yet. But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead,

I pursue as my goal the prize promised by God's heavenly call in Christ Jesus.

Therefore, let all of us who are mature think this way. And if you think differently about anything, God will also reveal this to you.

Only let us live up to what we have already attained.

Brothers and sisters, join in imitating me, and pay attention to those who live according to the example you have in us.

For many live as enemies of the cross of Christ, I have often told you about them, and now tell you again with tears.

Their end is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. They focus their minds on earthly things.

But our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly wait for a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.

He will transform the body of our humble condition into the likeness of His glorious body, by the power that enables Him to subject all things to Himself.
