2 thessalonians 1 (NMV)
1 Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:
2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 We are always obligated to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly and the love of every one of you for one another is increasing.
4 about your perseverance and faith in all the persecution you face for your faith and the suffering you endure through pressure and hardship.
5 This is clear evidence of God's righteous judgment, that you may be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are also enduring hardship.
6 For it is right for God to repay with suffering those who cause you to suffer,
7 and to give relief to you who are afflicted, and to us as well, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels
8 in blazing fire, bringing vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
9 They will suffer the penalty of eternal destruction, separated from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His overwhelming strength and majesty.
10 On that day He comes to be glorified in those He has made holy, and to be marveled at by all who have believed; because our testimony to you was believed.
11 With this in mind, we always pray for you, asking that our God would judge you worthy of His divine summons into His kingdom, and by His power fulfill your every desire for goodness and every act of faith prompted by Him.
12 so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
