2 timothy 3 (NMV)
1 But understand this: In the last days there will come times of great pressure and suffering.
2 For people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, arrogant, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, and unholy.
3 They will be without natural affection, unyielding, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, and not lovers of what is good.
4 They will be treacherous, reckless, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
5 They have an outward form of devotion to God but deny its power. Avoid such people.
6 For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak-willed women who are burdened with sins and led astray by various desires,
7 always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth.
8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these people also oppose the truth, people of corrupt minds and counterfeit faith.
9 But they will not get far, for their foolishness will be clear to everyone, as was the case with those two men.
10 But you have followed my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, faith, patience, love, and endurance,
11 along with the persecutions and sufferings that came to me in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra, what persecutions I endured! And the Lord rescued me from them all.
12 Indeed, all who want to live in a godly way in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
13 But evil people and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed. You know who taught you,
15 and you have known the sacred Scriptures from childhood, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and is useful for teaching, for exposing error, for correcting, and for training in righteousness,
17 so that the person who belongs to God may be fully equipped and ready for every good work.
