Titus 3 (NMV)
Remind them to be subject to rulers and governing authorities, and to obey them out of moral obligation, being ready for every good work.
To speak evil of no one, to be peaceable and fair, showing disciplined gentleness to all people.
For we ourselves were once spiritually undiscerning, disobedient to God, deceived and wandering, enslaved to all kinds of cravings and indulgent pleasures, living in a state of corruption and corrosive envy, detestable and hating one another.
But when the kindness and love for mankind of God our Savior shined upon us,
He saved us, not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His merciful loyalty to His covenant promises, through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,
whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
so that, having been declared innocent by His freely given favor and kindness, we might become heirs with the confident expectation of eternal life.
This message is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and beneficial for people.
But avoid senseless disputes, genealogies, quarrels, and fights about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless.
Reject a person who promotes divisive false teaching after a first and second warning,
knowing that such a person has turned himself inside out and continues in sin: he is self-condemned.
When I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, make every effort to come to me in Nicopolis, because I have decided to spend the winter there.
Diligently help Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey, so that they lack nothing.
Let our people learn to devote themselves to good works in order to meet pressing needs, so that they will not be unfruitful.
All who are with me send you greetings. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all.
