peter 3 (NMV)
In the same way, wives, put yourselves under the authority of your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won over without a word by the conduct of their wives,
when they see your pure and respectful behavior.
Your beauty should not come from outward things like elaborate hairstyles, gold jewelry, or fine clothes,
but rather from the hidden person of the heart, with the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in God's sight.
For in the past, this is how the holy women who put their confident expectation in God made themselves beautiful, by submitting to their own husbands,
just as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. You have become her daughters when you do what is good and do not give in to fear.
Husbands, in the same way, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with someone more physically vulnerable, showing them honor as fellow heirs of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.
Finally, all of you be like-minded, sympathetic, loving as brothers and sisters, tender-hearted, and humble.
Do not repay evil for evil or insult for insult, but on the contrary, bless, because to this you were called, so that you may inherit a blessing.
For "Whoever desires to love life and see good days, must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from speaking deceit.
They must turn away from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."
Now who is going to harm you if you are eager to do what is good?
But even if you suffer for doing what is right, you are blessed. Do not be afraid of them or disturbed.
Instead, honor Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the confident expectation that is in you.
But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.
For it is better, if it is God's will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit.
In that state He also went and made proclamation to the spirits in prison,
who in the past were disobedient when God waited patiently in the days of Noah, while the ark was being built. In it, a few, that is, eight people, were brought safely through water.
Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not the removal of dirt from the body, but the appeal of a clear conscience before God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been put under His authority.
