1 Then I looked, and there was the Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him were 144,000 who had His name and His Father's name written on their foreheads.

2 And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and the deep rumble of loud thunder. The sound I heard was also like harpists playing on their harps.

3 They were singing a new song before the throne, before the four living beings and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been purchased from the earth.

4 These are the ones who have not defiled themselves with women, for they remained pure. They follow the Lamb wherever He goes. They were purchased from among humanity as firstfruits for God and the Lamb.

5 No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless.

6 Then I saw another angel flying overhead, having the eternal good news to proclaim to those who live on the earth, to every nation, tribe, language, and people.

7 He said in a loud voice, "Fear God and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come. Worship the One who made the sky, the earth, the sea, and the springs of water."

8 A second angel followed, saying, "Fallen, fallen is Babylon the Great, who made all the nations drink the wine of her passionate immorality!"

9 A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and its image, and receives a mark on their forehead or on their hand,

10 they will also drink the wine of God's wrath, which has been poured full strength into the cup of His anger. They will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb.

11 And the smoke of their torment will rise forever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image or for anyone who receives the mark of its name."

12 This calls for endurance from the believers who keep God's commands and remain faithful to Jesus.

13 Then I heard a voice from heaven say, "Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on." "Yes," says the Spirit, "they will rest from their labor, for their deeds follow them."

14 Then I looked, and there was a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was One like a son of man, with a golden crown on His head and a sharp sickle in His hand.

15 Another angel came out of the temple, calling in a loud voice to the One sitting on the cloud, "Swing Your sickle and reap, because the time to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is ripe."

16 So the One seated on the cloud swung His sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested.

17 Then another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he too had a sharp sickle.

18 Yet another angel, who had authority over fire, came from the altar. He called out in a loud voice to the one who had the sharp sickle, "Swing your sharp sickle and gather the clusters from the vineyard of the earth, because its grapes are ripe."

19 So the angel swung his sickle over the earth, and gathered the grapes of the earth's vineyard, and threw them into the great winepress of God's wrath.

20 The winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood flowed from the winepress as high as the horses' bridles for about 1,600 stadia [approximately 180 miles or 300 kilometers].
