Ephesians 1 (NMV)
Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To the believers who belong to Christ in Ephesus, and who are faithful in Christ Jesus:
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms.
For He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless before Him in love.
He appointed us in advance to be adopted as sons and daughters through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of His will.
to the praise of His glorious grace, which He graciously gave us in the Beloved One.
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace
that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.
He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure that He planned in Christ,
to bring all things together in Christ at the right time, things in heaven and things on earth.
In Him we were also chosen as an inheritance, having been appointed in advance according to the purpose of the One who works all things according to the counsel of His will,
so that we, who were the first to put our confident expectation in Christ, would be for the praise of His glory.
In Him you also were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit when you heard the word of truth, the good news of your salvation, and when you believed.
He is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's own possession, to the praise of His glory.
This is why, since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the believers who belong to Christ,
I do not cease giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.
I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, would give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know the confident expectation to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the believers who belong to Him,
and the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty strength,
which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms,
far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.
And He subjected all things under His feet and gave Him as head over everything for the church,
which is His body, the fullness of the One who fills everything in every way.
